Readers Make My Day

Every so often, a comment or e-mail arrives from a reader who's been inspired by Kitchen Parade or my food blog A Veggie Venture. I've started to save these messages. On days when life's work lists toward labor, it's good to be reminded that the effort is appreciated.

I've done the program before but I fixed the same things over and over and didn't get much pleasure out of the actual cooking.     Hi, I just discovered your site, and wanted to tell how touched I was by your posts about trees, and mourning the loss of special friend trees. I love your father - I taught my young daughter the same lesson, verbatim, about trees being living beings, very recently. In fact, I believe that all things in nature have consciousness. I wish more people understood that!

    PS Your peperonata recipe? I've been making that for years, sans potatoes, only I didn't know it was a recipe or had a name, ha ha. I often use a rainbow selection of peppers, and flavor with sweet chili oil as well, then deglaze toward the end with dry sherry or vermouth. I fill briefly dry-fried ww tortillas with them, and a strip of cream cheese. Yummy!

  2. I started Weight Watcher's this past January and have lost 25 lbs so far. My concern was finding enough recipes to keep me on track from now on .... and I LOVE this site!     I really like to know that I can use your recipes and have WW points calculated for me! You have creative and easy dishes which are the kind I like best.

    It took me a while to find how to write to you. I think you ought to make your contact more visible so that your devoted fans can send in more praise!
